How much can I make building apps for the Android platform? - awwstn
I am a web developer by trade, and a developer for Android devices. My current income from android development is pretty low, and I want to be able to make a living making apps. I was hoping that the second-hand market on android would allow me to make a lot of money, but I have found that prices for second-hand apps are extremely low. The fact that there are so many developers, and so few jobs available has helped me find myself in this position.I started out writing text-based games for android. I have built apps for Android, an Android version of the Bejeweled game (that I purchased in the Android Market), an Android version of a game that is designed to teach children how to read, and a game that is a combination of Bejeweled and Battleship (but only includes bejeweled versions of the characters). I tried to make my apps more interactive and fun for the user, but I found that to be rather difficult.I was hoping that I would be able to find a job writing an algorithm, and then charging a dollar a game for something that is designed to run while the user sleeps. My problem is that there are tons of developers, and I cannot find anything that is difficult, and that I can create for a low cost. I am sure that there is work out there for me, but I have not yet been able to find it.Any suggestions for how I can make a living as an android developer?
